FWIW RHEL 6 carries the following patch: https://github.com/libguestfs/libguestfs/commit/f87bb94ce53e991dd29f0b473... You could modify the libguestfs RHEL 6 spec file, remove that patch. You'll also need to modify the spec file to add the live-service subpackage. As an example of what to do, see the Fedora spec file: http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/libguestfs.git/plain/libguestfs.spec and search for the string 'live-service'.
