v2 simply extends this patch series to cover the extra directories

Except from the comments, the rest seems fine (although IMHO a bit too
much overly split).
The only remaining item is to consider whether we should rename
mllib
to something else, mlcommon was my suggestion.
Hm dunno about this, mllib seems fine IMHO.
