In your libguestfs source directory, create two files as follows:
(a) localconfigure should contain:

# qemu is too old (< 1.0) so the qemu test will fail.

./autogen.sh \
--prefix /usr \
--disable-ruby \
-C \
"$@"

(b) localenv should contain:

export SUPERMIN=/usr/bin/febootstrap3
export SKIP_TEST_LAUNCH_RACE_PL=1

Make sure both files are executable:
chmod +x localconfigure localenv
Instead of using './configure [args...]' use './localconfigure [args...]'
