How to install lib guestfs in CentOS
Hi all, I tried installing *yum install '*guestf**' on CentOS 5.5 but this doesn't seem to work because of some dependency issues. Could you please provide me a solution with yum than with source install? Thanks -- S Saravanan

What are the errors? Did you try: yum --enablerepo=epel-testing install '*guestf*' Rich. -- Richard Jones, Virtualization Group, Red Hat http://people.redhat.com/~rjones virt-df lists disk usage of guests without needing to install any software inside the virtual machine. I've just tried it on my CentOS 5 machine, and it installed fine. Have you got /usr/lib/libmagic.so.1? Have you tried installing or updating the 'file' package? Are you using any other external repositories? Rich. -- Richard Jones, Virtualization Group, Red Hat http://people.redhat.com/~rjones virt-top is 'top' for virtual machines. $ rpm -q file file-4.17-15.el5_3.1 $ rpm -ql file [...] /usr/lib/libmagic.so.1 This machine is i386. If yours is x86-64, then it could be a multilib brokenness problem. You will need to remove the libguestfs.i386 package, block it so that it never gets installed, and reinstall the libguestfs.x86_64 package. Nice, but when i try I created this image with virt-install, this runs fine on Xen. if i try [root@centos-test ~]# file /vm/toyoto.img /vm/toyoto.img: data guestfish -a /vm/toyoto.img
<fs> run *Could not open '/dev/kqemu' - QEMU acceleration layer not activated: No such file or directory* <fs> list-partitions <fs>
List partitions displays nothing! How to sort this issue? -- S Saravanan

What is the image file? Presumably one which contains no partitions. How about:
<fs> lvs <fs> file /dev/sda
